Revit 2021 - Saving to a Previous Version

Hello All,

I have developed a model for a Client using Revit 2021 but they are using Revit 2019. Why did I think there was / would be a way to save to a previous version? What are my options? Can Autodesk do it given worst case scenario?

Thank you,

You will have to recreate your model in 2019 since there's not yet implemented a save-to-previous-version option in Revit.

That would be unfortunate, to say the least.

You will need to have all other trades upgrade their models, or you will need to recreate everything in RVT 19.  You could try exporting your 2021 model to IFC, then link that into RVT 2019, but it will be messy and you will loose some intelligence and functionality.

No, not even Autodesk can do it. From time to time people get irritated at this. Sasha Crotty offered an excellent explanation for why Revit works this way a while ago:
