Revision Schedule Formula to Link Delta Line Visibility to Revision?

Hi there, my understanding of formulas for visibility parameters is a bit limited, but I'm wondering if there's a way to tie the visibility of delta (detail) lines in a titleblock to the existence of the revision in the schedule? The revisions within the project are setup Per Sheet, so there's a varied instance.  But instead of going through each titleblock individually to turn on/off each instance parameter, or relying on something like RF Tools to run a Parameter Transformer task, is there a way to use the logic of 'if a revision exists at this row within the schedule, turn on the delta lines in the same row'? Dying to make this smarter.  TIA!

hello Ashley,

everything can be logically scripted through code and dynamo player for time-saving

such as but not limited to (creating tons of sheets based on plan views, without doing it manually)

you may have to check about dynamo basics, to solve your routine tasks in Revit. it's such a great tool that could save your time.

you may refer to the attached link from Do roots, they have a great course about dynamo as a basics and advances

https://diroots.com/e-learning/dynamo-courses/dynamo-basics-training-course/

also, IN-learning is a good option if you can access their courses

i hope this answers your question

Hi there -- that actually doesn't answer my question at all 🙂 I understand that tools like Dynamo and other scripting options can help, but I do not know how to do that which is why I am asking for help directly in this forum.

Sorry, but I don't think there is any way to do this.  Access to revisions is pretty limited.  For example, I looked through the parameters and project parameters that one might be able to use for controlling element visibility.  I also looked at items available for view filters.   But neither provided access to any revisions on the sheet or even in the project.

Honestly, I'm not even sure this can be done with scripting.  Scripting does provide access to the revisions, but I'm not sure they provide "sheet" level access, and I'm not sure how one would use that to turn off a line even if "sheet" level access is provided.

Hello,

One thing I prefer to do is to create a revision cloud for each revision I want to appear in the schedule, so when this view is placed in a sheet, the revision schedule populates automatically, to hide the clouds you can use the Revisions visibility column in the corresponding menu.

Hi Fabio -- sure, this isn't about the text content, if that makes sense. The different revisions appear just fine on the sheets, it's just the three little lines for the delta around the revision number that I'm trying to control the visibility of. No issues with clouds or text within the schedule -- legitimately just the visibility on each row of the delta detail lines. Seemingly an easy thing, but it doesn't look like it's possible.

@sragan, thank you for that -- yeah, it's feeling like a lost cause, but if there were any way to do it, it would be based on a sheet instance. Just seems like there should be a clean, clear way to do this. I appreciate your insight!

A quick sketch of what you mean might help - I’m having trouble picturing what you are trying to do.

I’ll not be able to solve this one, but it might help others to offer more advice.
