Project Base Point - Invert Levels

Hi All,

The challenge that I’m currently having is mis alignment of Project base point which is affecting the IL’s of the Drainage pipes.

Options Tried:

  • Manually adjusting the PB by unclipping (dropping or adding Elevation to -220.0) and matching the elevations of Arch model
  • Re-established the project base point to match the elevation

In both these scenarios both Arch and MEP model are not lining up.

Project Base Point:

MEP Model

Any workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

You probably want to be using shared coordinates.

Reset shared coordinates in your model first and save. Then the method which I have used before is to open the architectural file. Link your model into that file and manually align your model to the architect's model. Then publish coordinates to your linked model. You can then unlink it. Close the architectural model and open your own model.

In your model the architectural and MEP models should now align and use the same coordinate system.

i'm assuming the Arch model has the correct coordinates set?

  • in the Mech model, Manage ribbon > Project Location panel > Coordinates dropdown > Reset Shared Coordinates
    • do this just in case there are any old settings...
  • Link the Arch model into the Mech model
    • use Project Base Point to Project Base Point
  • Acquire Coordinates from the Arch model.
    • this should set the coordinates in the Mech model, including the Elevation and Angle of Rotation from the Arch model.

- Move the Arch link to align with your model (skip this step if they already are)

- Select the Arch link and Acquire Coordinates

- Move your Project Base Point (if your are pre-2020 then you need to unclip it) to align with the link Project Base Point
