Potential solution to tagging Ductwork and Piping on Multiple Sheets

There honestly may be no easier way for me to do this other than grinding it out, but I thought someone in this forum may have a better method or related app.

We are designing a new system for a 200,000 sq. ft. Lab space.  Currently we are sitting at around 450 sheets.  While coordinating with the architect for SD we split our views up into sectors and have already placed them on sheets.  We have since moved into DD.  Our plan is to tag all on each sheet and just delete what we do not need: cleaning things up in the process.

Does anyone in this forum have a better method than what we are suggesting?  We have a couple people on staff that know a little Dynamo and could possibly figure this out.  I am just trying to decide if it would be worth it to have them spend their time on it.

Thank You,

John

You mention "Our plan is to tag all on each sheet". In Revit you (normally) tag items in a view and then place that view on a sheet. Do you mean tag your views or do you really mean tag your sheets and if so tag what?

I would need a better understanding of your workflow and the expected outcome (e.g. examples, screnhsots) to give better answer. However Dynamo probably could help you in automating (part of) the proces. You also mught have a look on the appstore to see if there are tools that can help you.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

I think it was a workflow issue on our part.  Something that we hadn't done before was create duplicate views as dependent.  When we set up this project we duplicated the views without the dependency and without detailing; partly because there was no detailing at SD.  We did not realize that later down the road this would cause issues with tagging ducts, pipes, equipment and such.  So instead of adding annotations to one view and the other views picking them up.  We have to add tags to every single view in the project because they are not dependant.  You live and learn I guess.

My original question still stands though.  If anyone has a quick workaround to fix our mistake please let me know.

Thank You,

There information left out of this attempt at a solution that actually might help you a bit.

You can un-crop one of the views and tag all. You can then select all the tags and copy for pasting into the previously created views. Elements that are not visible will not get tagged.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
