Plumbing System on Sanitary objects: Revit to IFC

Hi there.

I created a simple hot and cold water supply plumbing system in revit and connected them properly to the objects i wanted like the mixin tap or the basins.

When checking these objects in Revit, to see if the system applied to them, for me all seems normal: hot and cold water systems have been assigned to the objects, as seen in Screenshot 1.

When i exported the modell to IFC, i encountered that only the cold water system has been applied within the system property. See Screenshot 2.

How can i fix this, so both systems apply to the objects as it is in Revit or is it not possible?

Ty in advance.

Regards

Hi there,

I tried to simulate the export of a plumbing fixture with two systems from Revit to IFC, and it seems that the both System Names are properly translated as shown in the image below.

IFC file viewed in usBIM.viewer+.IFC file viewed in usBIM.viewer+.

Can you share your ifc file and the plumbing fixture family? Also, what ifc reader are you using?

I hope this helps.

Hi there.

@jrobrador19

I am using Solibri as IFC Viewer.

I uploaded the the Family as requested. the IFC File i cannot share as the format isnt supported in this forum. I uploaded a modified  .rvt which fits into the size restriction instead.

ty in advance.

Regards!

For me this works just fine in Revit. Only issue is the exported IFC.

Hi again @KD.Schmidt

I can see the ifc system parameter only reflect one system.

But if you include Revit property sets, you will be able to see the two systems in the properties.

When exporting an ifc file from Revit, click on Modify Setup then go to the Property Sets tab. Check on the Export Revit property sets.

I hope this helps.

Hi @jrobrador19 .

Thanks for this suggestion.

The Mechanical Tab that now appears shows actually the both of the systems now.

The factor that bites me a bit is, that I now have as well all the other revit properties, which i ma not want to include.

So this is definitely a solution but i wonder if there is not another way to make the IFC parameter show both assigned systems without having to "bloat" the modell with all of revits parameter.

Thanks !
