Placing Reference Points on Reference Line

Hello,

I am currently making a 2019 Revit Model of a Backwater Flap Valve where I am required to make one of the parts in the model able to move/rotate by changing a value within a specified Family Type.

I currently have a Family Type called 'Angle' in which I can alter the angle in which something is; however, an error of 'Constraints are not satisfied' arises whenever I try to change the values of my desired angle.

I have searched up a tutorial on how to do so, and it states that I should make some reference lines & planes, then place reference points on such lines to be able to move the part accordingly.

However, I can't seem to place a reference point on any of the reference lines that I have made in my model.

Does anyone know on a way to place these reference points in the model, or if there is another way to automatically move/rotate a specified part within a model.

Are you talking about the 2D annotation symbol? If so, this could easily be done with visibility settings.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

It could be a visibility settings issue, however I don't even have an option to place a Reference Point in my view.

From going off of the steps shown in this link: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/EN... the issue that I have found is that I don't have a Draw Panel within the Create Tab.

I am trying to place it in my front view of the overall 3D model, so yes the location where I am currently trying to place the Reference Points is in the 2D model. However, if it is easier then I can change it to make the Reference Points within the 3D model.

Ref points are only available in adaptive families and mass.
