Pipe System filters

I have created all my Pipe Systems for each Discipline examples:

FP-(CA) CLEAN AGENT

M-(CF) CHEMICAL FEED

P-(GAS) NATURAL GAS

I am creating Filters to isolate by systems belonging to each Discipline

FP PIPE

MECH PIPE

PLMB PIPE

in the TYPE Properties I want to define the "DESCRIPTION" to be used in a filter to sort by Discipline.

the Description = are listed below.

FP PIPE

MECH PIPE

PLMB PIPE

I would like to be able to turn on or off by selecting the visible check box for the discipline filter in the view.

I have tried adding a project Parameter to be part of the filter- same result.

this all seems straight forward but what am I missing?

until I engage the comments in the project and Filter by comments it works.

I would like to keep the comments as another option for filtering further in the project.

is it that filters don't recognize the Identity data parameters in the Pipe System Properties?

can this be achieved in a template (rte) file, or does this need to be set in a project (rvt) ?

@kadmonkee What our firm does is use the "system name" to filter each system type. See clip below. This way we have full control over specific systems not just disciplines. No extra parameters needed.
