p-trap annotation symbol within pipe fitting family (nested annotations)

Hello Revit Experts!

I'm sure this question has been asked 1 million times. I'm trying to add an annotation symbol for my p-trap fitting. I can add the symbol to the reference level, but this is not the work plan for this symbol. I want to add it to the "LEFT" elevation view. You can't add generic annotations to elevation views, but I've seen a workaround for this. I've seen the annotation nested within a face faced generic model. The generic model then gets placed in the view you want your annotation to show.

But for some reason it's not working for me. I've tried messing with a ton of parameters within the annotation family and also the generic model family. But still my annotation does not show. If anyone can let me know what I'm missing it would be a game changer for me!

generic model family (This is a level based, but I've tried with face based as well) (still trouble shooting)

Also wondering if the main problem is where I insert the generic model family into my p-trap fitting family. Can it be inserted into a workplane or does it need to be on an actual face?

Any help is appreciated!!

Hello,

One option is to use Symbolic lines, but they are not keeping its size with the scale change.

Autodesk P-Trap families use model lines locked to reference planes.
