multiple detail levels in one view

When my company uses ACAD to create HVAC plans they show the main duct route as "fine" and the secondary duct routes as "course". In an enlarged plan the detail level is reversed. The main routes are course and secondary routes are fine.  Is there a way to show two different detail levels for the same family in the same view in Revit? In this case, the duct family.

Short answer is No....

This has been a question for a while... Usually with Pipe. showing pipe of a different size course and others fine. but it's the same thing :-). unfortunately, there is no way to make the duct, or pipe, in a model behave differently based on size or Trunk vs Branch.

there are several workarounds (at least for pipe) none are ideal, and none would work for connected content (like a branch off a trunk). at least none i can think of 🙂.

Not really.

You can different detail levels for different family categories but that wouldn't work for you because the whole duct category would be affected.
