moving the whole file to its correct position

Hello
I have a base architectural model (Link)
it wasn't pinned at the start of the HVAC work
the link was slightly moved

work has been done according to the wrong slightly-moved link
now to correct the problem I Imagine I need to do this:

1- remove the link completely and then add it again (this will put it in the correct position)
2- selecting the WHOLE project (ducts, air terminals, spaces) without the link and moving it to match the corrected link
--
how can I do the moving step? can I just use "move"?

how are you linking your molds together? Shared Coord, Project Base Point (PBP), International origin, etc...

  • if your using Internal or Shard, if the architect moved there model already, you should see that reflected in your file when you open it. you have a couple different options
    • you can grab everything and move it. this can be tricky depending on the size of the project, i prefer to do it from a site view with everything turned on and unpined. if you can get a coordinate from the architect for a column intersection i find it helps too.
    • you can use the Relocate Project tool
  • if your using PBPtoPBP, find out what the coordinates should be and update your PBP

If your file is not shared coordinates, then make it as shared coordinates using publish coordinates. It is not advisable to grab and whole projects and move it. Please see a screencast and see if helps. Thanks

Hello,

Moving the clipped Project Base Point, all the elements move along.

But this action should be done carefully, usually I draw a detail line that will guide me from to position.

I suggest you to create a back up before editing it.
