Movable View Title

Trying to figure out a way to make a view title that has more control of its location on a sheet. My thought was to make an annotation family with the labels, text, etc.. Create strong references in that family. Bring that into a view title family. Then dimension from the "origin" point of the view title family to the strong references of the annotation family. Two issues I've ran into. The parameters for the dimensions does not pull through to the view in a project. So, the control is not there. Can't figure out how to use the view name (view parameter) in the annotation family. Any ideas?

You already can move the View Title independently from the View.

Or just select the view title (not the view) on your sheet and move it wherever you want.  Use a guide grid to align titles of multiple sheets if you're feeling fancy.

I should have written a global change to the location of the view title. Not per sheet.

Or locate by a per view title type.

Hm.  You could probably do that, but you'd have to create multiple types for floor/ceiling plans, details, diagrams, enlarged plans, etc.  I'm not sure the benefit would outweigh the cost in time and frustration of trying to make it work though.  But if you move forward with it I'd be happy to steal it when you figure it out.

You can locate the stuff in the View Title family differently relative to the reference planes to create different types.  It only works if you don't turn on the View Title line because the line is fixed to the reference planes.  Still, I would question the practicality of this approach.

Will do bsammis. We already have an add-in that automatically shifts all the view titles to the original origin of the that view. Which comes in super handy. But, sometimes we need to adjust that view title a little off that origin. That is were this idea will come into play.
