Mouse Selecting Everything without wanting it to

As my mouse moves over any object in the 3D view it selects and keeps selected everything it goes over. Only when i click off do they all go away. I have tried the select options and none of them change this happening. When I click an object to move it, it also creates many copies until I drop it. It makes a trail of the object and where it has been which quickly clouds the screen until I let go, which makes it hard to see where I am taking it.

I appreciate the reply but like I mentioned in the post I tried those options. There is no combination of those boxes being selected, or not selected that changes my problem. I would appreciation any more advice on how to fix this.

I would check the connection of your mouse and maybe even your keyboard. Check batteries. If the mouse is connected via USB, I would change the port the dongle is connected to. Check for any updates for your mouse.

Thank you for the advice but unfortunately this did not work. I tried two different mouses. One wired and one wireless and then through each USB port. The problem is still occurring.

I guess I would be tempted to delete all local temp files on your computer, including Temp Windows files, Revit local files, then on next open of file run an Audit. Assuming this is a workshared project I would also compact the Central File. Yes, I know none of this has anything to do with your mouse, but it is something to try

Have you tried another mouse to be sure it is actually the mouse causing issues?

As previously stated I tried two mouses, a wireless and a wired. Unless you mean a different type then the two I have already tried.

I'm not sure how to do that? Is there a simple way to do that?
