MEP Schematics in Revit

Hello eveyone,

I’m trying to switch everything in my office to BIM.

We continue to draw our schematics with Autocad, and my idea is to have an independant view that allows us to create schematics for MEP systems in the MEP model.  It will be very helpful if we can also synchronize the plan views with the schematics to avoid errors.

Any one knows a way to do this ?

Is it possible to add an independent view in the model for schematics?

Thanks

Mouaad

Hello @m.aitabdallah,

In Revit OOB you can create a drafting View and place symbols and lines to it to create your schematics.

We made created a complete library with Revit families based on our CAD symbols library.

As Schematics in AutoCAD are also not intelligent, except the AutoCAD P&ID ones, we see more and more that companies make there own symbolic family library and draw the Schematics in Revit.

See, the example below.

These symbols have no relationship whit the real world objects in your model.

You need a third party application for that.

In Revit 2018.2 Autodesk introduced the P&ID modeler in Revit.

P&ID Modeler for Revit can be used to coordinate data between an AutoCAD P&ID drawing (piping and instrumentation diagram) and a Revit model.

please see:

I hope this Information helps to migrate to BIM.

Hello @m.aitabdallah,

Sorry, Smiley Very Happy we use this term often in this Forum.

Revit OOB = Revit Out Off the Box

About the library, you have to google a bit.

It depends on where you are located.

Every country has his own standards.

If you can't find one I can teach you how to create one.

This is a neat project with tools to make Graph representations of element relationships in Revit.  It seems like this would be an essential component of linking a schematic diagram with model information.
