MEP Calculation and system type interference

Hi,

I'm from the structures field so I hope some of you who are more familiarized with the MEP topic can help me out here.

I'm creating a MEP template for my company and I'm considering on using the calculation settings from revit to help the hydraulic team with the pressure drop and flow calculations.

Right now, I'm setting the piping systems, and my initial idea was to create a system for each type of discipline (StormWater/WasteWater/WaterSupply/FireSystem) and sub discipline (Grease/Condensates/Industrial/Ventilation/Existing/Domesctic/Return/Reuse..etc.

Additionally, I wouldn't have only one piping system to represent a domestic cold water, I will have a Domestic cold water "SUSPENDED", a domestic cold water "UNDERGROUND" and domestic water "Embedded" for instance. I've stipulated this in order to export to DWG by System pipe (Modifier).

What kind of impact will I have on the calculation procedure if I continue with this differentiation on the piping systems? Note that this 3 systems would be connected and its supposed to be calculated taking one another into account.

Hi,

Since only one calculation algorithm can be selected for the whole model, creating more systems will not affect the calculation method.

See the following Revit help topic: Specify Calculation
