Load Calculation Help

Hello, I am working on load calculations using Revit MEP 2016,2017,2018. I need certain information from Revit to plug into programs such as HAP or RHVAC to run my load calculations using this program. Currently I have to take the area from the model using space or room, measure the walls to get outdoor envelop area, calculate the roof area if it isnt a flat roof, and then measure all of the windows, doors etc. This can take a lot of time to do depending on the size of the building. Is there an easier way to do this? I want to be able to get this information room by room so I can break out my zones. If Revit can't do this by itself does anyone know of a program that is compatible with Revit or plugins that will do what I'm asking?

Also I want to be able to insert schedules from excel into Revit instead of hand typing them into Revit. Is there a way to do this?

Thank you,

Kyle

Any ideas on the first part of my question? I really just want a way to automatically generate each rooms wall, ceiling, door, window area, and door areas.

Hi @Anonymous,

I don't know exactly what you want it, but when you are starting a project in Revit MEP, you need to use a system template, then you will make a Link with Architectural Model within System template. You shouldn't have generated rooms, wall, ceiling; only you have to generate spaces, zones in your MEP Model with the Architectural Model as a link.

Good luck!!

Kudo if you consider it and mark as a solution if it helps you solve your issue.

So I already have everything in the model(rooms, walls, windows, doors, spaces, etc) but what I need is the actual data for the area's of each rooms components (walls, windows, doors, ceilings, floors).

You can select any data in your model; for example, you can go to (options to control element selection) and select Arch Link, then with bottom Tab in your keyboard, you can choose any element in your model and get any data. Select links - 1.jpg

Kudo if you consider it and mark as a solution if it helps you solve your issue.

Correct, but what I want is a way to have a massive data dump(to excel or ideally right to HAP or RHVAC) that gives me all of the room information. For example, room 101 has 2 walls that are exterior walls, wall 1 has area of X wall 2 has area of Y, wall 1 has two windows with area Z, roof area is K, exterior space perimeter is J, etc

My overall goal is to save myself time since I wouldnt have to go look through each room of a model and measure all of the values and then hand input them into the program.

I got it, bro ... you have to create schedules/quantities about something you want it... you have to go to analyze on the ribbon palette, and select schedules/quantities and then create a wall type schedules or how many diffusers you have, but you have to create a schedules or table quantities ...... for giving you an example....  tell me if what you looking for.!!

Kudo if you consider it and mark as a solution if it helps you solve your issue.
Thank you!!

This doesn't really answer the question.

I am in need of this type of solution as well.  Is there a way to get wall perimeter information broken out by room/space and per wall?  I know how to make schedules, but these data don't seem to connect with each other.
