Link between Schedule of Panelboards and One Line Diagram

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I am looking for a way to link the fields in the view "EE-Schedule of Panelboards" (refer image 1) to the fields in one line diagram. For example the highlighted value 100 A in bus rating column for panel H1C1 (refer image 1) is I believe fetched from the information in properties of the panel H1C1.

My question: Is there a way to link this value (100 A)under the bus rating column dynamically to a field in one line diagram (refer image 2) such that if this field/value is updated in panel or panel schedule, then it would automatically get updated in the one line diagram. Similarly, if a field from short circuit schedule can be linked to the one-line diagram, then it can be useful to reflect the updated information in all places in the project if some change occurs during the design.

Is there any existing way or a workaround or a future solution in place to achieve above kind of link between schedules and one line diagrams.

Let me know if I should provide more information to describe the problem statement.

Thanks!

Hello,

We achieve this through Dynamo, but we have to run it!

We used detail items to create the single line diagrams and duplicate the panel circuits parameters.

Could you post that script?  We've tried a few times to make that work but with no success.

I'm interested in this topic also.

A way to correlate BIM info into the single line would help fix the odd coordination error between PB schedule and one line. Isn't there more going on here than just introducing a Dynamo Script?

Hi Umit, i just looked at your one line image. How do you create these? I'm just sketching my one lines in drafting mode but you are doing something a bit more sophisticated maybe?

Hello,

We created a detail item that contains the same electrical parameters of the electrical circuits, and created detail items tags to display them.

We transfer the parameters values using a Dynamo routine.

Hi,

Thanks for the solution. I am new to Dynamo, so could you please point me to any tutorial or reference material which can help me to build a dynamo routine to transfer parameters for detail items.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

I am not sure if I understood your question properly. I am creating this one lines manually using some of the standard symbols available in Revit 2015 and Revit 2016.

I'm creating one lines using drafting views and some blocks I imported from
AutoCAD. Are there any benefits to using Revit symbols? (Clearly there would
be if info comes over from the electrical model, which is what you are
looking for?)

Yes, I am looking to create some links between electrical parameters and one line to automate part of process.

Hello,

There is a family category named Detail Items, you can find in the family templates the template for it, create the components and use them as blocks in the drafting views!

These components can include the parameters you can use to host the information from the circuits they represent

Hello @Anonymous, @MuirEng, @fabiosato, @Anonymous,

Is there a standard of how One Line Diagrams should look like?

Is there a lot differences in all the countries in the way panel boards and switch boards are presented in diagrams?

Could you upload a few examples of those diagrams?

Below you see a example of a switch board diagram the way we generate that in the Netherlands.

The diagrams are placed on drafting views and each Panel in the project is generated based on settings from a userinterfase.

Here is a one line from a recent project of mine (car dealership).

This is entirely manual, with no integration to the model, and I am interested in making this a bit smarter.
