Light fixture length in schedule not populating

First time creating schedules.

I have created a schedule to identify my light fixtures.

One thing I can't seem to get to populate is the light fixture lengths.

Not sure if its due to them being dynamic rather than set in the family properties.

My LN2 light fixtures come in numerous different length which are changed in the individual light property.

On a floor where I only have the dim in the properties then if I select itemise all instances then the fields expand but the value is still blank.

How are you sorting the schedule?

What happens if you set "Sort by" to Type, then set the "Then By" option to None.  See if all the parameters populate in the schedule.  there is something in your sorting or filtering that is making it group multiple items with different settings. which as you already noted is why there blank 😁

In a family where the Light Length parameter is associated with the dimension label then the value will automatically populate because it reads it from the dimension.

In a family where you don't have that (per your original screenshot) there is no value for the parameter to read so you will need to manually type in a value.

As I think @iainsavage has already pointed out, that is an Instance parameter. if you placed the light and then changed it to a different Type, the Light Length will not change. Without seeing your model.... you may have multiple families of the same type that have the different Length, or the other way around. With an Instance Parameter governing the Length, it has to be placed each time. If the family needs to change to a different Type, it should be Deleted and replaced OR after the Type is changed, the parameter needs to be updated manually.

Thank you both.

Will make sure when I get future family files created which have a length variable that I get them done so as to use the fixed length rather than an instance.

In looking at that family might i suggest you break that up into multiple. families based on the fixture type (LN, D, P, etc..) or make a Type Catalog. personally, I don't like having more than 10 +/- types in a family. any more than that and I'll start breaking the family up or make a catalog for it.
