Insulation for pipe fittings

Hi there,

I've created some pipe fitting families and noticed that when I apply insulation to these fittings in a project, strange shapes are appearing as their insulation. I tried the same with Autodesk standard fittings, and everything worked fine. So, what have I missed? What should I do to fix my families and apply insulation correctly?

I have attached a screenshot for reference.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,

You have to use only sweeps to generate the geometry to get a better result.

If the geometry is to complex, the insulation wil have difficulties wrapping around the fittings. This is especially the case with pipe fittings, pipe accessories.. ducts seem to have this issue less.

try simplifying your fitting family to the bare minimum.

if you need help you could always provide a sample of your family that’s causing the issue.
