Inserted AutoCAD drawings under the Revit Plan cannot be seen

Inserted AutoCAD Mechanical Plan from the MEP Engineer is not seen under the compound 2 x 2 ceiling grid.  Everything is seen outside of the plan and also on the corridors without the ceilings, but not where the grids are laid.  Any reason for this, and how to have the elements like the ducts, etc. be seen?

(If I hit the ceiling exterior rectangle, the ceiling rectangle becomes blue and then what is underneath on the AutoCAD drawing can be seen, but then when I stop doing this, what is below is not seen anymore).

Thanks in advance.

Are you using the CAD file to place your Revit duct, or is is being used as your duct representation?

if the CAD is placed at the floor level, it will not show if the view is set above the ceiling. you would need to turn off the ceiling or insert the cad file above the ceiling.

additional question.... is the ceiling a link or live in your mechanical view?

I think it is easier to underlay the CAD file to place all the ducts, etc.   (I am doing this for the first time, so I do not have much tradition or experience doing this).

I just turned the Visual Style to "Wireframe" and now what is under the ceiling can be seen (I think someone wrote about this before, I just forgot).  It was in Hidden Line before, and that is when I could not see underneath.

Thanks for your advise hmunsell.
