Afternoon
I'd be most grateful if someone could please advise on the correct procedure for importing CADmep MAJ files into Revit so that it appears in the correct real-world place. Essentially, I've been asked by a client to model up some services in Fabrication, then convert the models to Revit. These are the steps I've taken so far:
1. Exported 2D Architectural GA from Revit using Shared Coordinates.
2. Xrefed the 2D GA into AutoCAD using 0,0,0 WCS and created a 3D services model in CADmep Fabrication on top.
3. Loaded both the Architectural Revit model and Fabrication model into Navis and verified that alignment is perfect.
4. Created MAJ file of Fabrication model whilst in WCS.
5. Ensured Fabrication database is linked to Revit and imported MAJ file.
Although the import is successful, nothing appears in, around of even near the linked in Architectural model! Which I'm finding completely baffling as in all instances, the coordinates have not been changed and nothing has been physically moved.
I've engaged the services of a Revit Guru and it's doing his box in as well! We can't be the only people who've tried to do this! Basically, we just need to be able to MAJ out of Fab, Import into Revit, save the RVT file and issue to the client so he can link it in. I can't fathom why it isn't that simple!
Being an AutoCAD user for the 25 years, I can't get my head around this at all, so I'd be extremely grateful for any assistance that anyone can provide.
