I am having trouble determining how to open an SAT. file in Revit.  Can anyone help with this?

Thank you

Hi Ashton,

One can bring SAT files into Revit through the Insert Tab>Import Panel, but Revit does tend to struggle translating some geometry. The workflow I use is to import the SAT into AutoCAD, and then importing the DWG into a Revit Family (Adding connector elements, changing connector parameters, etc)

First prize would be to convince the manufacturer/supplier to provide you with native Revit families, but I understand that it can sometimes be a battle.

that will depend on the version of SAT file. if you are exporting models from something like Solid Edge to an SAT file. Solid Edge can write out SATs up to version 31, but Revit can only import up to version 7.0; check the options before hitting save and having to wait an hour on a large model only to find out it can't be imported into Revit.
