How to rotate section box to the view cube in 3D views?

Hello, I have had an issue recently with some projects where when I create a section box it is not at the same angle as the elements in the project. I can manually rotate the section box to suit but as soon as I leave the view and select something else to create a section box around it completely resets back to the original angle. Anyone know a workaround for this? Angle Issue.PNG

Workaround? Why not ask for a solution instead?

Share the project or a small portion of it for a definitive solution.

Have you tried rotating the project to align with the selection box?

I believe it has something to do with the compass, in the image I attached it appears the box is the same orientation as the N E S W in the top right corner, but I need it to align to the view cube instead any ideas?

Yeah, share the model. It's too early for a guessing game.

Hi, I created a small project for you to look at attached, if you click something and click revits built in section box feature it should replicate my issue

Did you rotate the crop region for the view?

Unfortunately, I do not have 2022 loaded but I will be following. If you don't have a SOLUTION by the end of the day, I might be able to get 2022 later.

Good luck!

Sounds like your views are maybe set to true north instead of project north?

Maybe.

Sorry Rob, didn’t mean to reply to you, it was for the OP.

Because you model is not upright when a plan view is set to Project North.

Now if you want the section box to be upright, you would need to create a scope box > rotate it to align with your model > assign the 3d view to that scope box > unassign > stretch the section box as needed

Hi this works but as soon as I recreate the section box elsewhere it is reset back to the angled section box. I believe it must be as stated the project follows true north but I dont set the projects up so not only can i not control this aspect but I also dont even know how to or if this affects coordinates or rotations for exports etc. I will speak to the guy who sets the projects up and mention this to him though, thanks

Instead of create new section box, duplicate an existing 3d view with the aligned section box then stretch it.
