How to remove the arrow that symbolizes the connection of a circuit to a switcbo

I want to know how do i remove the arrow that symbolizes the connection between a circuit and a switchboard, so that the connection between then be a simple line like the connection between other devices like electrical fixtures and lighting fixtures.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous

I hope you are well. There is no way to change the Arrow/Home-run of electrical wires. They aren't controlled like the rest of the annotation arrows in Revit which can be found under the Manage Tab >> Settings >> Additional Settings >> Arrowheads.

There are a few things which you can do: (All are workarounds)...

  • You can safely delete the home-runs an use Detail Line Arc's
  • You can safely delete the home-runs and not affect the circuiting, but if you want the home run loop, just not the arrow - you could place a device that has a connector and no display and end your circuit there (i.e. no offical Revit home-run).

Lastly, there will be a Power Connector associated to the Panel, as soon as you draw more than one Wire from a powered/circuited element (e.g. light fitting) to the Panels Connection Point, then the home-run will go away, then you'll have to "Hide" the one which still has the home run.

The first and last options are the easiest to achieve what you want.

I hope this helps! Smiley Happy

@Anonymous, I created this screencast a week or so ago, this mainly runs through some of the various ways in which you can use Revit's wiring. HERE IS THE original post, with more useful info.

Hello,

You can go in the VG and uncheck WIRES / HOME RUN ARROWS.

Hi @Anonymous

Apologies, I avoided the obvious solution for you under VG Smiley Happy

@fabiosato post is the solution for you!

My workarounds focused more on getting the home run to disappear when connecting to a panel, while having the ability to use home runs in other areas in your plan views. Smiley Happy

Hi ramoon.bandeira,

Go to VG override dialog box (type VG) and just uncheck the Home Run Arrows from the Wires category, see below screenshot. You can also extend that arrow-less home run line to the panel board if you want.

Let me know if this is what you are looking for.

Because they choose the length they want to be rather than being a uniform 1m long (or whatever length I choose) I tend to delete them a lot of the time.

They also don't attach themselves to the end of a circuit, they attach to the element closest to the Panel.

As with all Revit wiring - it's pretty dumb. It should know that a radial circuit should only have one end and one finish but no, it would prefer to draw wires like a spider making a web. Smiley Mad
