how to auto connect fire sprinklers to pipes

Hi all 

I am modelling fire system first time. 

Attached is jpg of fire sprinkler system i am working on. As the layout is random, generate layout tool did not work. So i had to auto connected all sprinklers to pipes one by one.

Connecting sprinklers one by one was very tiring and time consuming. I tried to find some tool to auto connect multiple sprinklers together. But i did not find any. 

What is the proper way to model in such cases.

depending on the design of the main and secondary pipes for your sprinkler heads, you should be able to use Generate Layout to get a basic design and use Generate Layout, Generate Place Holder and/or Edit Layout to adjust the design.

In the cases where this is not possible, the Connect Into command only functions on 1 family at a time.  It would be ideal to have this functionality by selecting multiple sprinkler heads.

I have posted a Revit Idea regarding this functionality in the hopes that this may be adjusted in the software for future releases.

I wonder why Autodesk has not addressed this issue till now. It is very basic issue. Just think of amount of labor it requires for even a moderately big building. 

Instead of automatic generate layout, there should be sketch mode option to sketch the pipe layout. 

I tried the edit layout tool also but it only moves the pipes in limited direction. No use. I have not tried generate place holder. 

Is there any free add in for it ?
