Generate Lighting Takeoff

Hi - does anyone know of a way to export a lighting takeoff from Revit automatically? Current workflow requires us to calculate a w/sf for each space by hand. I am hoping there is a way in Revit to either do this automatically, or to export the lighting fixtures or tags per space so we can do this quickly in excel. Thanks,

You can create a formula that uses Actual Lighting Load or a similar parameter to generate this.

I may be misunderstanding your inquiry here, but the workflow to get from a schedule to Excel is pretty straightforward.  To make this “automatic” would require some more work, maybe a Dynamo script.

In the image below, the steps were:

  1. Create a Schedule
  2. Include Room number and/or name as a field.
  3. Sort on one of those fields
  4. Export schedule
  5. Open in Excel

I hope that helps. If not, please elaborate further on what you’re after.

What I understand so far is you want to calculate the lighting load of a particular space/Room. If the lighting is done on the model and proper load is assigned with load classification then you can easily extract the data under Multi category schedule. Check the image attached.
