Flex Duct Taps location to Rectangular Duct

When drawing Flex duct into or from a Rectangular duct, Revit automatically wants to put the tap off the bottom or tap of the Rectangular Duct. I want the Tap to come out the side of the Rectangular, but the only i have found to do this is to draw Round duct into the Rectangular, erase the Round Duct, leaving the Tap for a Flex duct connection. Is there a setting or technique to get Revit to automatically tap the Flex duct into the side of the existing Rectangular duct.

Thank You

2 options for centred ducts:

If drawn from the item you're connecting to (ie. Air Terminal), right click and draw a flex duct from the blue connection point then change the offset to the height of the duct (in the bar under the ribbon tabs), then click the duct.

If drawn from the main duct make the offset same height as the duct then draw your flex.

Sometimes for some reason Revit will have the wrong level selected, so make sure you check in the properties tab that the level is correct whern drawing the flex duct.

I'm not sure what happens when ducts aren't drawn justified centred.

I always use round duct, and then go back and use the Convert to Flex Duct tool.
