Fixtures, walls, doors show through floors in linked file-- why?

Hi All,

I'm working with a linked architectural revit file.   I have an area that's a double-height space, where there is a floor covering most of it but and area where you can see below.   It would be helpful if you could see what's in the lower floor in areas that are open to below, but when I set the view range below this level, the fixtures are visible (but lighter) that are underneath the floors.  You can also see walls and doors.

Is there something I can do to see the fixtures on the first floor that aren't hidden by a floor slab, and only those fixtures?    Or is this a consequence of how the underlying architectural link is set up?

Thanks!

Did you set the link as Underlay by any chance?

Oh, a plan region would work.

But it seems strange that the floor doesn't conceal what's below it? In section and 3D views you don't see through things like that. It's that a result of the category's Beyond line properties? Just trying to understand what the rules are.

I have underlay turned off in view properties and I don't have it selected for the link.

Thanks for the help!
