Filter For Duct Annotations

In order to prevent omitted information necessary to a duct fabrication drawing i was wondering if there was a way to add a filter (or another way maybe i'm  not thinking of if that would be better) to essentially highlight on a view whether or not a duct or duct fitting was tagged or not tagged with a specific annotation tag.

For example I have created a duct tag (call it "Tag A") that reports the duct size and length, and for my fabrication drawings i need to tag every piece of straight duct with "Tag A". Some areas are congested and pieces are sometimes overlooked and not tagged. If i was able to create a filter that would allow me to color in all ducts that were either tagged with or not tagged with "Tag A" I would be able to quickly to a QC check to ensure everything was tagged properly. Taking it one step further I could set up a QC view that would be used as a final check before release to fabrication and installation. Would save time from having to have someone else review my drawing for omissions. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful!

Dynamo could be a possible solution

And use automatic tag? So you are sure that you have all piece of duct tagged...

Thanks Louis. I have not yet even run Dynamo since i have been using Revit (about 2 years now) but what you're showing below seems like it could work. I'm just not too familiar with it that I was hoping there would be a simple solution to what i was trying to do. I'll take a look into what you are proposing and see if i cant get that to work though. Is that Dynamo script something you could send to me that i could use as a reference when building my own script?

What I showed you in my previous message is the script.

You place each node (the rectangles) on the workspace and connect them together.

Most of the nodes are available in the standard dynamo configuration.Only the node element.istagged is from an additional package (free download) called "SteamNodes".

A lot of information (e.g. tutorials) for Dynamo can be found on dynamobim.org.

Put the Dynamo away, boys.

If every Duct Object has Tag A, then Right-Click>Select All In View will tell you if the Totals are equal.

If any have been overlooked, Annotate Tab>Tag All will catch everything in view that isn't already Tagged. Then you just have to deal with any congestion.

Top Tip: Make 2 versions of Tag A, one for Plotting, and one of them brightly coloured for checking. At Output time, you can Select All of one type and change it to the other. Or you could do something similar with multiple Views.

Is it fabrication duct or normal ducts connected by unions?
1. If you are numbering the duct pieces there is a free app in Autodesk app store you can easily finish tagging without error I guess.
2. In other case if I had to tag every element I would select all the elements by Filtering and Tag all at once

You'd only need to Select or Filter anything if you wanted something other than every object in the View to be Tagged.

So we're using Revit 2017 with SysQue for fabrication so we ultimately end up with duct sections with unions representing the type of joint at each union. I have attached a screenshot of one of our usual shop drawings we used to make in 2D AutoCAD, which we are trying to replicate the best we can now in Revit. We want to have 2 tags on every piece of straight (size & length) positioned as shown in the corners and then bottom of duct tags before and after height changes. The height tags we can work in where we want but the manual tagging to try and get the size & length tags placed how we want them has been quite a hassle. Even using the Revit "tag all" doesn't really work because it just splatters the tag everywhere and we end up spending a lot of time just moving them around. So we're definitely open to suggestions from other HVAC fabricators to see what is being done to ultimately produce fabrication LOD drawings.

What is the app on the Autodesk app store your referring to Sujan.Maharjan?
