Face-based family on duct systems

I have to create a face-based family on the side of the supply ducts but when I delete a duct which has arrows placed on side of it, the arrow family should get deleted automatically. See attached for reference.

I know that face-based families will not delete automatically if we delete the host. Please advise if there are any solutions.

No there is no simple way. You could write an add-in that would have this functionality. However add-in that continuously monitors the project is not beneficial for performance. You also could write a Dynamo script that you run once in a while that deletes all arrows that are not attached to ducts
