Fabrication Configuration -> Revit Specification and Part Materials

We seem to be coming across an issue where the fabrication database will not allow me to optimize my duct lengths based on the assigned specification. I'm also unable to adjust the spec and the part material within Revit. It's greyed out.

Here is the assigned +2 WG specification I'm trying to work with in Revit.

Example 1.jpg

When the straight piece of ductwork (CID Pattern 1) is 12x12 it optimizes lengths autonomously and perfectly at the 58.00 STD Straight

When the straight piece gets smaller or larger in size e.g. 24x24 it will no longer optimize the lengths at the STD Straight default of 58.00.

Here’s the video link illustrating the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZU3PJgRzhrk

Take note the properties for specifications and part materials on the left are greyed out.Example 2.jpg

@bd5cents -

Thank you for reaching out. I understand you are having an issue with the length being auto assigned on the duct pieces, as well as modifying the fabrication components.

I am doing some investigating on the lengths, however with the modifying of the specifications, this may need to be accomplished in the Fabrication MEP software then reload the configuration within Revit.

I will respond shortly with my findings.

I just wanted to check in to see if you still needed help with this issue.

I did some investigating on the length issue and it may be that the catalog needs to be updated in the Fabrication software. We can edit parts within Revit but the rules should be set in the catalog via CADmep, ESTmep, and CAMduct.

If you have edited the catalog and are still having issues I may need to take a deeper look at your file/catalog.
