Encountered a sharing violation while accessing - Revit issue

9times out of 10 when I go to sync with the central I get an error saying this:

sharing violation.PNG

It is followed by a message saying "File not saved." This occasionally happens when I just want to save but definetly not as often as trying to sync. I've deleted all my files from my temp and made sure my firewall is not blocking anything revit related. For this project the central file is on the cloud in A360 but I find the same thing happens even with a file saved on our network. I've had my windows profile re-installed and not sure what else to try? No one else in the office seems to have this issue. Please help!!

I have recently encountered this one and the issue was isolated to our Micro Trend antivirus. Follow these steps on how to do the anti-virus exclusion process.

I had this problem, as well (circa 6/1/2019).  I have Bitdefender and Microsoft Defender running, plus some adblockers.  I turned them all off to no avail.  HOWEVER, a recent update by REASON CORE SECURITY gave me access violations on both Revit and Adobe Acrobat Pro.  I uninstalled REASON CORE SECURITY and the problem was solved.  To be frank, I don't even know how i ended up with that program on my computer - I thought it bundled with Bitdefender or something.  So anyway, check ALL your anti-virus/firewall/security programs - those you know you have and those you don't.  Also check your "Recent Updates" under "Programs and Features" in "Control Panel."  This will show you all the unavoidable updates that may be wreaking havoc with your computer.

Thanks for the heads up about the anti-virus software.  I think during a Microsoft update an obscure anti-virus program was added to my computer.  After this update things went wrong with Revit.  I uninstalled the spyware and Revit works good again.

My sharing violation was created when Microsoft provided an upgrade and downloaded an anti-virus program on my computer. I deleted to program and revit worked fine after that.

I have the same problem. In my case the error happened because there is an antivirus named SIGURAZO which installed automatically when I surfed internet.
The SIGURAZO was blocked my Autodesk License so make the Revit doesn't want to sync also save the file.
To resolved the problem I just remove the SIGURAZO from my PC.
But if you don't wanna remove the antivirus you may check the antivirus setting and then let the revit running on your pc normally.

DELETE THE LATEST ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE THAT WAS JUST DOWNLOADED TO YOUR COMPUTER FROM MICROSOFT AND THE ERROR MESSAGES WILL GO AWAY.

If After uninstalling Anti-virus app, my PC not safety.

This means it's very DANGEROUS for me, I think that all I know is that the Ransomware Virus can get rid of all the data.

This is not a solution.

Is AutoDesk going to resolve this issue??
In my opinion, the "solution" of disabling your AntiVirus is not a real solution, only a temporary workaround.  We all cant permanently disable our AntiVirus.  Our IT Dept isnt going to let this fly on a permanent basis, nor should they.  That isnt sustainable.

I believe Autodesk should work to resolve this, so everyone doesnt have to permanently put their computers at risk to use Revit.

Can you not just apply exception rules for Revit in your AV software rather than completely disabling it?
There’s a troubleshooting page which says:

  1. Verify that antivirus, firewall, or WAN software is not blocking or placing locks on the following file types. If needed, exclude or add an exception to the file types listed below:

    •  DAT
    •  RVT
    •  RWS
    •  SLOG

Revit needs to modify and create these files when synchronizing with central for backups and the worksharing log.  If any of these files are inaccessible the error message will occur.  See: How to set up antivirus (AV) exclusions to improve stability and performance of Autodesk software

I had the same problem with Bitdefender Total Security

Resolved the issue after I adding these to my rules:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Desktop Connector\cdxsenddmp.exe
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Desktop Connector\senddmp.exe
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Desktop Connector\cdxsenddmp.exe
