Embossing on Revit Pipes

Hi

I am working on a plumbing project in Revit, and my client wants to have Part ID and flow direction embossed on the pipes. The client needs it for installation purpose. They had done a smaller piping job in Inventor and they had got Part Number embossed on the 3d models and actual pipes too for installation purpose.

I am not sure if it is possible to do embossing or any type of modification on the 3d models of pipe in Revit.

Please let me know if anyone has ever done something like this before.

Thanks.

For Revit system pipes you wouldn't be able to do that.

You could use a pipe tag.

Or you might be able to create a family which attaches to the outside of the pipe.

You can't edit the pipe itself though.

Flow direction would need to be decided by you when placing the tag/attaching family because they will not automatically read the flow direction from the pipe.

If you are using MEP Fabrication pipes then maybe its possible but I'm not familiar with the process of amending pipe elements in Fabrication CADmep
