Hello everyone, I found this family in already existing project, and I want to adjust the sprinkler elevation but it's grey even when I go to a section view and select the sprinkler to move up and down it doesn't work.

I tried removing the host from the family and everything that I found in the forums but nothing is working.

Probably  the hosting method for the family.

Upload the family please to allow examination.

The family is face based so attaches to a face e.g. the ceiling.

It has a parameter which looks as though it should be able to adjust the offset distance of the sprinkler from its host but it doesn't seem to work as intended.

It is also modelled as being inside the hosting element, which is not usual.

I think your problem is with this particular family and you would be better to find a different family.

Yes, I think it's better to look for a better family.

and is there a way to make it a non hosted family (it's kinda becoming a challenge for me haha) ? because I tried something and it also didn't work, I unhosted it and still can't change the elevation or move sprinkler up and down.

Thanks anyway

Not directly. I prefer to rebuild but there are a couple threads on the topic with workarounds in this forum.
