Elements have duplicate "Mark" values..2 questions

Hello,

In my plumbing revit model I have "Warnings" saying..Elements have duplicate "Mark" values. I am up to 1200 now.

It's a big project. When I investigate them they are good pipes. So I can't just delete.

Question 1:

What are we doing wrong thats causing theses pipes to have duplicate marks?

Question 2:

I create a pipe schedule so that I can just rename the marks easily. Is there a way/trick

to filter/show only dupicate marks?

Thank you..

First, you're not doing anything wrong, that problem pops up when more than one person is working in the model at a time. It's probably the most ignor-able warning in Revit.

There are some add-ons that can renumber Marks quickly if you want to take the time to change them, check out Element Renumber from Kiwi software. Again, I wouldn't even bother taking the time to renumber Marks and just ignore it.

Abulla,

Ah..There's four of us who work in the model. So thats why.

But I read somewhere that these warnings will slow down the model.

And I tell you our model is so slow. I has hoping by eliminating.most

of these warning somehow would speed up the model.

With your experience could you say these warnings don't really factor in the

performance/speed of the model?

I would say they don't affect the speed of the model, but that's just anecdotal evidence. You could always download the free trial of Element Renumber and compare model performance before and after.

You can also select all your modeled elements at once, assign them a new Mark, then select them again and erase that Mark value, but that might be tough if you have thousands of elements.
