Ecentric Reducer

Hi all, I am trying to make ecentric pipe fitting from lookup table. However, when I tried to connect the two pipe sizes the ecentric family appears but the other end of the one pipe will miss align with one end where it connects to the ecentric reducer. So, I am curious if we can fix this and make the pipe to auto align between both ends.

Hello,

For it work properly, you need to take some steps:

1 - Use a plan view

2 - When you start to draw the first pipe segment, select the vertical aligment to bottom, you can change in the properties or use the justification tool.

3 - Draw the first segment, click for start and end, then change the diameter and click in the end.

4 - The reduction will be done properly if the family is done accordingly.

@fabiosato

Thanks for replying. It didn't work for me that way I guess I didn't have the family done right 🙂

Hello,

Please check the OOTB reducer family to have an guidance.

I have made a course about fittings on Pluralsight, where I explain how to do it in detail.

But studying the family above you can figure out how to do it!

@fabiosato

Hi, I'll have a go with studying the ootb reducer family first and will see how it goes. Thank you so much for your help.

@fabiosato

I tried to have a look at the ootb reducer family there but I could not figure out what is the purpose of these two blends. 1.PNGAlso, there is like a cylinder in the center of reduced size as well which I have no clue what it is for.

In fact, would you recommend me to change the values on the lookup table instead if I want to set a standard size for these ecentric reducer rather than making a whole new family and insert the lookup table later. Thank you

Hello,

The two blends are meant to serve as host for the single line lines.

the cilinder is probably meant to generate the centerline representation of the connection.

Yes, editing the lookup table may lead you to faster results.
