Detail dashed lines: dashes extending too far?

Hi! I've got some really specific line styles that I've created, where the dash and space lengths are "just so". But when I use these line types to draw corners or small line segments, Revit either completely fills in the line, or extends the dash so it's massively long. Each dash style represents something in my details, so this needs to be cleared up. Does anyone know if this is a setting that can be turned off in Revit? any solutions to this annoying problem? thanks for any help!

picture included: the line with GHR is the same line type as the reference dash below it. see how different they are !! why??

Line types are made up of a repeating sequence of Dashes, Dots & Spaces. What I see happening there is the line segment is not long enough to represent the specified pattern, so it is filling the space with a solid line until it can. when you break the line by adding a symbol or text, that starts the pattern sequence over. Besides changing your view scale, I'm not aware of any settings in Revit that will change that functionality.
