Default pipe type based on type of service (sanitary, vent etc.)

I have different "Pipes" based on the type of system. For example, the "Plumbing Sanitary" will be PVC with the appropriate fittings.

when i connect a WC or other fixture with the appropriate "Sanitary" connector, i want it to use "Plumbing Sanitary"as a default. BUT, for some reason, it ALWAYS defaults to "Plumbing Water" and I have to manually change it to "Plumbing Sanitary". You would think it remembers the last choice, but no.

I don't even jump forth and back between sanitary and water pipes. i literally work on sanitary only for a long time and it still always goes back to "Plumbing Water" as default.

Is there a way to either let it use the last type of pipe? Or to make it be smart enough to recognize that sanitary should use sanitary as a default?

while we are at it? i also like it to default (or remember the last choice) to "change slope" for sanitary pipe.

For some reason, it starts out with "add vertical".

Maybe there are good reasons to default to the one or other. but a "use last choice" should better for most users for all types of pipes.

By any chance, do you plumb the water connectors on your systems before sanitary?

Also, if you use a Draw Pipe command, are you set in as Add Vertical + Plumbing Water type? Does changing the most current setting in Draw Pipe affect your output when you try to then use Connect Into or Draw From Connector?

No, I only work on sanitary for hours.

Most the time I draw a pipe (either from a fixture connector, or from a pipe) it will start out with "Plumbing Water" (which is a copper pipe in my case) and "add vertical". Even if before I only used the "Plumbing Sanitary" and "change slope".  Eve if I set it to "change slope" and then set it to "plumbing water", it reverts back to "add vertical". it is like Revit tries everything to make me not use sanitary sloped pipes......

Revit remembers a bunch of settings from the last executed Draw Pipe command (as in, not from a connector/pipe), even if you didn't actually commit to drawing the pipe. I suspect that if you Draw Pipe and adjust your settings to what is preferred for sanitary design, you'll get fewer holdovers from your water settings.
