Default pipe system when several pipe systems use same classification

I have a plumbing fixture that when I click the glyph to add a pipe at the CW connector, it begins modeling a pipe from the Purified Water system. How can I change which system Revit starts drawing when a connection glyph is used to start modeling the pipe network?

I'm assuming that PW and CW systems both being classified as 'Domestic Cold Water', but there must be some reason it is being chosen over CW, and 'alphanumeric order' is not being used because CW would be before PW.

My other CAD is a Cadillac and I like to Revit to the Max!

Select the appliances and use Create System

Pipes should then adopt the system when connected to the appliance connector.

Or when you start the pipe command, select the correct system type before placing the pipe

Or right click an existing pipe and use Create Similar to use the system type of the initial pipe.

 Hi @iainsavage ,

Yes, thank you I understand the workarounds. I'm attempting to use the 'system flow' glyphs on the fixtures themselves. This is when the undesired system is seemingly randomly chosen by Revit, when you left click one of these.

For anybody else reading this in the future, the process mentioned in the previous post appears to be the only want to control this behavior with certainty.

It appears the method that Revit uses to decide which system to draw with (if you have not created definitive systems from the fixture, in System Browser) is that Revit will use the pipe system of the same classification which you last modeled with in your project.

Knowing "what Revit wants" is key to getting "what you want". Revit prioritizes last used for many things as opposed to a default. This works across many workflows.

The post by @iainsavage should be marked as the solution, IMHO.
