Cutting sections using MEP & AutoPLANT models within a Revit model.

Hi there,

I'm having an issue with MEP & AutoPLANT models within a Revit model. When the MEP & AutoPLANT models 3D dwg files are linked to the Revit model the MEP & AutoPLANT models are visible the entire depth of the drawing in section views. Also they are also visible the entire depth of the drawing in plan views.

I can filter them out which works fine in plan view but that's not so great when I'm trying to cut sections.

Has anyone else come across this issue and if so did you find a solution that allowed you to leave the MEP & AutoPLANT models visible and in your sections?

Thanks for any help,

N

To get 3D dwgs to cut correctly the best way is to insert them into a family first, then import the family into the project. this will section as expected.

Thanks for the solution Justin.

A few questions about the proposed solution:

As I  am currently using a live linked AutoPLANT DWG file, when it updates with the new Family also update?

Thanks
