Copy/Monitor went away or turned off on it's own.

I'm working on a mechanical project with a linked architectural Revit file. After a while and not working on this particular project, today I needed to make some updates and the main floor level was showing in my crawlspace plan. I reached out to the architect to find out if they had moved their Revit file elevations on purpose or by accident. While trying to decide what was the best way to move all the ducting, piping, and equipment to the correct elevation I noticed two things. I never got the copy/monitor notice that grids or elevations had changed location. Not just that, but the typical copy/monitor icon wasn't showing up when I went to select the grids and elevations that I had originally set to Copy/Monitor.
Is it best to erase all the gridlines and elevations and start a new copy/monitor with new grids and elevations or just move the Revit file to the correct elevation and then copy/monitor link the current existing grids and elevations that I had originally done copy/monitor with the architectural linked file?
