Connector Matching for Fabrication Parts - What it is and how to set it up & use it

If you're using Fabrication Parts in Revit, you should be using Connector Matching. It was added in 2020 and most user's have no clue it's there. Autodesk chose to hide the settings and not even configure their own Out of the Box Configurations to use it. 

 

So...here's what is is and how/why you should use it....

Nice write up. I have our setup based on matching connectors. One of my early mistakes was trying to match the connectors the other way around. Pipe end prep to fitting. Rather than fitting to pipe end prep. Works a charm and managed to remove the need for pipe types with varying end types. Pressfit, Grooved, Bev End, etc.
