It's possible to have the fittings on the same colour??? Or i need to set the material in the fitting?

Thanks

Hi @marco.defina

Hope you are well! Smiley Happy

Here are a couple of options which you have:

OPTION 1:

  • Go to your Piping Systems Family Category, extend the branch and double click on your desired Pipe System, then assign a Material to it.
  • This will then change all Pipes, Fittings and Accessories associated to that system to that Material. (Even Mechanical Equipment associated if a single Pipe System is assigned to that Equipment e.g. Pumps etc.)
  • Check your Material Shading Colour and Surface Patterns too... Duplicate Materials and Material Assets too and assign the newly created materials to other pipe systems and so on and so forth.

OPTION 2:

  • You can create materials and assign those materials to Pipe Segments, this will only change the colour of the pipe run, but not the pipe fittings, accessories or mechanical equipment. You will have to create a Material for every Pipe System Type and Segment which you plan to use.
  • It is then easy enough to change the pipe fittings to the same pipe system/segment material via a pipe fitting schedule, include your pipe system abbreviations and don't itemize every instance, then simply click on the grouped pipe system/fittings material column (field) and assign the desired material to all the fittings in your project.
  • Alternatively, you would need to adjust and create fittings for every pipe system and adjust the routing preferences. (This will leave your project with a ton of pipe fitting families in it and I would rather just assign the material color via a schedule).

OPTION 3:

  • There is filters which you can use and assign to your Pipe Systems if you are not worried about using the Realistic Graphic Display Options.

OPTION 4:

  • You can use System Color Schemes (my least favorite way). This will also not work when you would like to use the Realistic Graphic Display Option.

I hope this helps! Smiley Wink

Hello, thanks for the exhaustive answer...For this project i select the option 2, i did the mistake tu use some default generic fittings for the stainless steel, i will duplicate the family and set the right material on every fitting.
