Change Parameter Values Greyed Out

Hi,

I'm trying to tag mechanical equipment. The naming is driven by 'Mark' under Identity Data in the equipment properties. I also set up a 'Pre-Mark to tell the location of the equipment. The 'Pre-Mark' is a Shared Parameter. When I tag the Mech. Equip. the 'Pre-Mark' doesn't show; only the 'Mark' does. When I click the tag to bring up Change Parameter Values the 'Pre-Mark' is greyed out. I can't figure out what is driving this, much less how to fix it. The equipment, tag, and parameters were copied from another project (it worked in the other project). Please help.

Thanks

It sounds to me like you need to add the pre-mark parameter as a project parameter in the new project. Is the pre-mark a shared parameter?

"Pre-mark" shared parameter must be added to both the Tag family and the Project.  Another way to avoid this is using a built-in parameter such as Comments.

The pre-mark is a shared parameter. I will add it in as a project parameter
and see what happens. Thanks.

Pre-mark is in as both a shared and as a project parameter. Pre-mark is also
loaded into the tag.

It is loaded as a project parameter. I also loaded it as a shared parameter when I was fiddling around with it trying to fix it. Any advice?

Are they from the same source Shared parameter file?  If you want to make sure, delete the parameter from the project, open the family and find out the source file location, then go back to the project and add Pre-mark from that very source.
