Certain Elements In Assembly Views Are Not Showing Up

We have been tasked with creating some MEP fabrication drawings from an existing Revit model - originally modelled in Rvt2015. We are replacing all mechanical service elements but are keeping the structural framing elements that are in the model. When we create assemblies to produce the final drawings most of the elements in the assembly views aren't visible.

These elements are visible in non-assembly views and in Visibility/Graphics I have all model categories switched on. I have also switched on 'Reveal Hidden Elements' but nothing additional is shown.

I have attached the two images. The first is the assembly view, the second is the 3D view. Both views have the detail level set to 'Medium' and the visual style set to 'Shaded with Edges'

Can anyone shed some light on this issue

Hi @JasonIsaac-Henry8474,

The elements that are not shown in the assembly are probably nested families in the family.

The standard function of Revit does not include the nested families.

Select the assembly and click edit assembly, you now see which elements have not yet been added to the assembly.

I did see this as a possible problem on other threads online. This assembly does contain nested families but when I add a frame of my own, which is more deeply nested, there are no issues. Below I have uploaded an image which shows my frame alongside the problem frames. I have also highlighted in the image below a typical support rod which is a member of the family I am having trouble with. This is also a nested family within the assembly but all members of this sub-family are fully visible in the view.

The family and nested families in the assembly are all 'Structural Framing' type (including the visible support rod). I'm trying to find anything which may be unique common to all of the sub-families which aren't visible but... no luck so far.

@JasonIsaac-Henry8474 , Did you ever find a solution to this? I am having the same problem and am also using the Structural Framing Type. I've read a few posts that seem to indicate that nested components that are of the Structural Framing Type may be the cause of issues with assemblies. I used a Generic Faced Based template to build my components then assigned the Structural Type to them. I found a macro that was written as well that I have not tried yet.
