Cable Tray Family Connector issue

My First Revit Family for Cable Tray Fitting. Tried loading the Created Family in Project but they Connectors are not working as expected. Not sure if i have missed out something.

When i use Cable Tray fitting in the Project the Family falls but its not connected on the Cable Ladder.

can anyone help to fix this Connector issue so it connects Correctly.

I am getting Warning message as "The solution is in the opposite direction of the connection direction"

Another issue is unable to parametric the rungs inside the Elbow as marked in Yellow in attached snap (Ladder-Bend.JPG)

Hello,

I found some mistakes in your family:

1-The reference planes with Defines Origin bax checked are the ones that corresponds to the cable tray axis, the vertical one was wrong.

2-The connectors must have the bend angle associate to both connectors, in your case you can input 90 degrees.

3-The cable tray vertical position is wrong, the reference level must match with the half height of the fitting.

4-To create the rungs and control its dimensions I suggest you to use profiles.

5-Most of the times I understand that the families should represent the real parts, but not in every detail, specially fittings which amount is big in a model.

To fix your family is a lot of work, I suggest you to check Revit native family to try to get a better understanding of my explanation.

Firstly Thanks for the guidelines to fix the fami;ly Will follow the steps are try to fix the Family.

Default Catalogue available in Revit Installation are all Radius Fitting and I am looking the shape what was attached in my initial post. that is one of the reason for building this Family.
