Batch Family Editor

Hi all,

I am interested in buying software for batch editing of families, such as changing, adding, deleting parameters in multiple families…

What are you experience with that? Which add in is the best one? Are there any free worth mentioning?

Best regards, Branimir

Whoa, I just posted essentially the same question in the architecture forum and didn't make much headway with it.

see Tools for Managing Family Types

I can't believe there isn't a decent tool out there.

The workflow Revit -> CSV -> Excel -> CSV -> Revit always breaks for me.

I've added an idea for am improvement where Revit Family editor can export and import direct from Excel.

Hi @MuirEng this is my favorite Revit Plugin. There is option to Export Parameters/Schedules to Excel. You can import the Edited data in Revit as well.

Hi,

Excel always works fine, but I believe there are software that do even better.

While I googled I ran on some that look like interesting:

AgaCAD_Smart Browser

CTC_BIM Manager Suite

Any experiences? Which one is better? Are there any better on market? Are there any good ones free of charge?

Best regards, Branimir

Thank you Sujan. I loaded this (the BIM One app) but it does not seem to have options for family editor parameter export/import. It looks like a tool designed to work with Revit but not Revit family editor.

Hi Brane102, thank you..

AGACad Smart Family Browser looks pretty amazing but I imagine it is quite expensive. I'll investigate this further.

Are you saying you are able to work with family types using Excel? Whenever I do this I get errors trying to reload my modified catalog.
