Assign parameters of share family to nested family

I make 2 share family and load them into a nested family. But when i can not assign the parameters of share family follow the nested family.

There's a slight error in your terminology.

The shared families are the nested families and they are nested into a host family.

I'm just saying this so that going forward people will understand what you mean and be better able to help you.

 

What you have to do is to click the box to the right of the nested family parameter which you want to affect.

Then create or load a parameter of the corresponding type in the host family:

That will create the association.

In your ring family the DN is set as a type parameter, but you don't have any types in the family, so basically you can only have one size for that component. Should the DN not be an instance paramater?

If changed to instance then that opens up the parameter for associating in the host family:

Same for the stub flange.

 

You can then associate the nested family DNs with the DN in the host family:

I was today days old when I learned you can only associate instance parameters to nested shared families. Thank you @iainsavage

I still have a trouble with share family. When i load it into project, i can not assign the system type for share family. It is alaway undefined
