Architecture room names and numbers showing up in MEP model but spaces fail to recognize them

I am working in Revit 2021 and have come across a situation a few times in project setup where the architecture model has the room names and numbers created and are showing up in our MEP model just fine, but when we create spaces, the space does not understand that the arch. room name and number is actually there and is instead showing "Unoccupied" for the room name and number......

The space naming command does not resolve this either.

Please see images for clarification. As an example of the error, the MEP space 220 is actually supposed to pull over "Mechanical 28" as the name and number but it is failing to do so.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated,

Thanks,

Luke

Hello @GustavoUbriaco,

Yes, the arch model is room bounding.

Ok the only reason for that is in the arch model there are not rooms placed

The other reason could be Revit is nos updated.

@GustavoUbriaco I have been in the arch model and have verified that rooms were created and placed.

What do you mean when you say Revit may not be updated?

In the desktop app you can see the updates available for Revit, in my case the Revit 2021 hotfix.

So in the most stranges cases the update is the solution

Random idea: did you check they are in the correct phase? Spaces only live in the phase they are created in and can't be changed to a different phase (AFAIK) like an actual item (wall, window).

Thank you @GustavoUbriaco for the update suggestion.

Also, thank you @HVAC-Novice  for this thought as well.

I have learned that the issue is related to design options. The architecture rooms are not set to "main model". Instead, they are on design options. This is why the spaces are not pulling the data over while the rooms are actually there...

Glad you figured it out.

It also gets goofy when a room contains multiple spaces.

Hello,

Some items to check:

1 - MEP levels are in the same elevation as the architectural model? If not they will not recognize the Rooms.

2 - Check the phase of the rooms and check if your spaces are in the same phase.
