Apply the same visbility graphics of one Revit Link to other Revit links

I have MEP view templates applied to my MEP floor plan views that control the properties of all but 'V/G Overrides RVT Links'.   I have a separate view template that I "apply template properties" on each floor plan view which controls only the properties of 'V/G Overrides RVT Links'.

This works great for a single linked model (structural).  But then when I add another link (architectural), I have to go in and set all of the VG overrides the same exact way for that model.

Is there any way to avoid these extra steps of setting the VG settings for every single link?

Unfortunately, no. Each link requires their own settings. You can't even transfer them between projects. The only way I've found is to have them preset in a project template with dummy links that you can use for repathing the links(s).

Hello @Anonymous ,

I totally agree with what @RobDraw is saying.

In our template, I created several dummy Links per discipline that I expect to be added in my future projects.

I used them to setup my View Templates.

When I start a new project I only have to change the reference (Path) with the relaod from option in the Manage Link dialogbox.

See also my tip in the link below:

Turn all Level and Grids off in linked models in your entire project

You may run into some limitation with placeholder links regarding the linked model's sub-categories, such as visibility of ADA clearances you may want off, etc.. If that is the case you can modify those MEP Floor Plan view templates in the project's model to include the architectural links settings. If you go with placeholder links you'll need to transfer the linked model's Object Styles (new only) into your project model and then edit each MEP view template to turn off sub-categories of the linked model.

Does anyone have an example of this by using Dynamo?  I'm not getting the results I expect.

No one has mentioned Dynamo. Can it be done with it?
