Annotation text rotation

I'm finding errors with a family I have made for annotating a double socket.

I have the annotation symbol loaded onto the floor plan of the socket family and it works perfectly other than the 2 for indicating twin socket. Usually to fix this I simply use the keep readable function, however as below shows despite keep readable being ticked it still does not flip orientation. 

I know you can use a tag for this (and I use tags for socket application) but I don't consider the use of a tag here acceptable as if the drawing is duplicated with tags you would loose the twin indication which could lead to errors. 

Ideally I would like the text to remain permenatley horizontal but just readable would be good enough any ideas on how to trouble shoot or is it something to do with the use of generic annotation/embedded families?

There may be other ways but one simple solution is to create a CAD version of the text and import it into your family, this way it will always be perpendicular to the element.

Thanks I managed to fix it myself turns out I was misisng the family parameter for keep text visible but had done it indiviudally for each text box.

I also added a 90 flip function so it keeps the text horizontal rather than the standard keep readable using an and function to turn off and on visibility of two text boxes (twin is also able to be turned on and off)

This sounds like the solution that I have been looking for! Thank you for posting.  Could you go into a little more detail with how you set up the visibility of your annotation symbols to change baced on which wall face you placed your family onto?

I want to add this functionality into one of my families for a Card Reader. 

Is it possible for you to send a copy of the family you referenced so that I can see how you set it up?
